Considered “The First Lady of LA Talk Live!,” THE Dialogue’s Host, Starlett Quarles, is a passionate, long time Community Advocate for the progress of Black Los Angeles and urban communities across the Country.

Honored as one of “Los Angeles’ Most Influential African American Movers and Shakers” by Reverend Al Sharpton’s National Action Network- LA, Starlett Quarles is a Third-Generation Angeleno and Community Builder, whose Real Estate Development family legacy has been instrumental in the redevelopment of South Los Angeles’ urban landscapes for more than five (5) decades. Her legacy consists of her grandfather’s Framing and Construction Company; and her father’s ​​Real Estate

Starlett’s professional experience ranges from being Program Director for a non-profit Community Development Corporation, to Marketing Director of her father’s Real Estate Development Firm, The Bedford Group. In addition, she is also President of urban X marketing, a niche marketing firm that specializes in Urban Marketing, Branding & Community Public Relations.

Additionally, since 2010 Starlett has hosted and produced her weekly Nationally-Syndicated Internet TV Talk Show; THE Dialogue with Starlett Quarles. With a monthly viewership of over 300,000 and growing, Starlett created THE Dialogue with today’s Black Community and Generation in mind. Past topics on THE Dialogue have included: Civic Engagement, Economic Development, Criminal Justice, Health, Education, Romantic Relationships, and Black Male Achievement.

An Active Speaker and Moderator, Starlett has spoken on several topics and issues that impact a diverse group of demographics. Some of these groups include: High School & College Students, Professional Women, Young Urban Professionals, and Politically Engaged Baby Boomers.

A transcendent and dynamic personality with a savvy business acumen, Starlett has over fifteen years of training and professional experience in changing and reshaping urban landscapes. As an educational precursor to her success as a Community Advocate and Voice for Building Urban Legacies, Starlett obtained a Bachelors Degree in Sociology with an emphasis on Ethnic and Racial Stratification from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).

She also earned a Masters Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP), which placed emphasis on improving the Organizational Effectiveness of Culturally Diverse Work Environments. As a result, Starlett has a solid foundation in Organizational Development, Marketing, Real Estate and Community Economic Development. She is also well-versed in Multiculturalism, and often emphasizes Diversity and Cultural Sensitivity in her Marketing, Branding and Community Outreach Strategies.

​​​​​The following is a promotional video honoring Charles Quarles and Starlett Quarles with the "Legacy Entrepreneurship Award" Presented to them by the Women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. at their 84th Far Western Regional Conference themed: "The Stars of Timeless Service."


In an effort to further engage THE Dialogue Audience in Socially-Progressive Conversations, Starlett also hosts, “Conversations,” a premier networking mixer that consists of an Opening Reception followed by moderated panel discussions or interviews in front of a live audience. 

The goal of “Conversations” is to break down the barriers of multi-generational networking by creating a unique, upscale environment that supports the exchange of ideas and resources; as well as the effective across industry and generational communication. 

“Conversations” is dedicated to engaging LA’s Community and Generational Leaders in open, interactive and sometimes controversial dialogues around a variety of issues that are impacting the Socio-Economic Evolution and Advancement of the Black Community.
